  • What are the requirements for obtaining a real estate license in Oklahoma?

    1. You must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident. 2. You must be at least 18 years old. 3. Submit an application for your provisional sales associate license to the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission. 4. Complete a background check through IdentoGO and schedule a live-scan appointment. 5. Complete the necessary pre-licensing education (Basic Course of Real Estate Part I of II; also known as the Pre-Licensing 90-hour course) 6. Pass the National exam and the Oklahoma Exam. 7. After passing the National and State examinations, you will be emailed instructions to login to the Commission’s Application Portal and select the brokerage you would like to work for. If you aren't sure, you may place your license as "in-active" to ensure your hard work doesn't "expire". 8. After brokerage approval, you will log in to the Commission’s Application Portal to pay for the Provisional License issuance fees.

  • How do I apply for a real estate license?

    The application process begins with the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission's online application, which should be completed after passing the 90-hour Pre-License course.

  • Do I have to finish my pre-licensing course before applying for my provisional license?

    Yes, you will need the Certificate of Completion of the 90-hour pre-licensing course from The Broker School in order to submit your application to the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission.

  • What is needed for Proof of Citizenship?

    You'll need to provide a copy of your birth certificate or a copy of a valid passport. Please note: You cannot use a driver's license for proof of citizenship.

  • How do I complete my background check?

    The background check is completed through IdentoGO. The service code needed to schedule an appointment is 2B7NR3

  • Can I qualify for an Oklahoma Real Estate License if I have previously been convicted of a crime?

    If you have a concern about your background check, please do not enroll in our course without first contacting the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission to confirm your eligibility. It's important to note the following: “Applicants convicted of felony crimes referenced in Title 59 Section 858-301.1 may be ineligible to obtain an Oklahoma Real Estate License for a predetermined number of years. For clarification, please contact the Commission and/or review the cited section of law as referenced herein. The Commission will allow the applicant to seek pre-approval prior to enrolling in a pre-license course.”

  • What happens after my application is approved with the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission?

    First, you'll receive an email from the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission which will include your "Client Candidate ID" information and directions on contacting Pearson VUE to schedule your exam. *Be sure to check your spam/junk folders

  • How do I contact the exam company for my state licensing test?

    The exam vendor is Pearson VUE. You may email them at [email protected] or you may call their helpline at 877-659-3843.

  • How many times can I take the exam for my license?

    If you choose the "online remote testing" option offered by Pearson VUE, please know you may only take the exam three (3) times, remotely. When you are at an "in-person" Pearson VUE testing center, exams are unlimited within the authorization period of one (1) year.
